The Concept: (The Hundred Cricket)
The Hundred introduces a dynamic twist to the traditional game of cricket. Each team faces 100 balls per inning, aiming to score the most runs to emerge victorious. The fielding side switches ends after 10 balls, and bowlers have the flexibility to deliver either five or 10 consecutive balls. With just 100 balls per side, every ball becomes a crucial moment in this high-energy competition.

Team Line-Up:
Eight city-based teams have been assembled for The Hundred, each representing a unique location. The teams are:

  1. Birmingham Phoenix (Edgbaston)
  2. London Spirit (Lord’s)
  3. Manchester Originals (Emirates Old Trafford)
  4. Northern Superchargers (Headingley)
  5. Oval Invincibles (Kia Oval)
  6. Southern Brave (Ageas Bowl)
  7. Trent Rockets (Trent Bridge)
  8. Welsh Fire (Sophia Gardens)

Each team comprises 15 players, including a maximum of four overseas stars and up to two centrally contracted England players in the Men’s Competition.

  • Match Format:
The game consists of a 25-ball powerplay for each team,
  • during which only two fielders are allowed outside the initial 30-yard circle.
  • Bowlers can deliver a maximum of 20 balls per match.
  • Additionally, each bowling side receives a strategic timeout of up to 90 seconds, during which coaches can engage with players on the field to discuss tactics.

Duration:
A match of The Hundred is designed to last two and a half hours, ensuring a fast-paced and engaging experience for both players and viewers.
